Jika pemerintah meminta ISP lokal menutup URL kompetisi di laman Facebook itu, maka minimal semua orang di Indonesia tak bisa mengakses laman tersebut. "Jika ada yang bisa mengaksesnya, maka tentunya ISP tersebut liar. Barulah kita bisa protes ke Facebook," kata Roy.

Sebelumnya, Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika Tifatul Sembiring menyatakan akan mengirim surat keberatan ke pengelola laman jejaring sosial Facebook di luar negeri, mengenai lomba menggambar kartun Nabi Muhammad tersebut.

Berbagai aksi protes dan keberatan di laman Facebook bermunculan. Salah satunya gerakan aksi protes "Penolakan Lomba Internasional Karikatur Nabi Muhammad SAW" yang diciptakan seseorang dengan nama akun Pod Bot.

Menurut Pod Bot, kompetisi itu diketahuinya dari surat masuk di akunnya, yang berisi "Pada tanggal 20 Mei 2010 bakal diadakan "Kompetisi Internasional Menggambar Sketsa Nabi MUHAMMAD (Sallallohu Alaihi Wassalam)".

"Ini berupa event di Facebook," kata Pod Bot melalui pesannya di laman gerakan tersebut. Menurutnya, dia telah memeriksa ke alamat laman tersebut, dan hasilnya 13.354 seniman telah mengkonfirmasi, ikut kompetisi tersebut. "Para seniman iblis sudah mendaftar," ujarnya.

Setelah ditelusuri, alamat laman kompetisi yang dimaksud yakni http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=113257775375783&ref=ts dengan judul kompetisi "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day".

Pemilik aksi gerakan pun meminta agar semua umat muslim di group tidak melakukan "log in" ke Facebook pada 20 Mei 2010, dimana kompetisi itu dilaksanakan.
